Even a modern flyweight punches harder than Joe Louis since Joe Louis lived back in a time before the heavy bag was invented and Louis had to survive on only one meal of dried corn every day.

Joe Louis fought Primo Carnero, The Baer brothers, Jersey Joe Walcott, and Max Schmeling--all by knockout.

He was 6'2 and 205-210 lbs in his prime.

He didn't need a heavybag because his natural power and his TECHNIQUE were already super polished and off the charts. Joe was described by on-lookers as being "so perfect in his form that we didn't think it even possible he could make a mistake". It was more than just raw talent, he practiced for hours and always went into the ring with a gameplan. That's why he's in the top 5 or top 10 heavyweights on most lists and in the top 10 for punching power.
Find a dictionary and look up the word "sarcasm" :geek9:

Mike Tyson......the way he does that alligator death-spin with the upper-cut. Tyson was a well schooled puncher, for i have yet to see a puncher with a better technique.

Marciano put a huge amount of his body into his punches. Leaping shots in a downward arc.

I think he is massively overrated as a puncher. But an arm puncher? Certainly not. He got every bit of leverage and torque he could.
