Morrison I'd say, able to leverage it better

Tua's seemed much harder to me as he could really knock people cold if he hit them right. But, Tommy seemed to have a bit more of a snappy crispy hook...

Tommy's is one of the most beautifully thrown hooks ever regardless if u think Tua's is harder (and i think it probably is)

Ok, lets throw Mike Tyson and Joe Frazier in the mix too, how do they compare, left hooks and over all offence?

Tua for me has the worst offence on the whole (predictable plodder) but possibly the hardest hook in terms of sheer blunt force. Tyson has the best overall offence with a faster more versatile attack and the strongest right hand of the four. His left hook was devastating too. Frazier had that constant pressure attack and worked the body beautifully but perhaps slept on the right hand (more than id like anyway). His Left Hook worked overtime though and packed a Wallop! How the hell did Ali ever get up!?

Both had a real good left hook. I think Tua had a harder hook but Morrison could get it there better.

Ive always thought that Tyson wasn't that heavy handed compared to big punchers, his power was more of just pure muscle mass, leverage and speed. Im sure ray ray can answer that. He could knock plenty out cold but when it came to the guys with iron chins, he dint have that 1 punch ko power. Fraziers is definity not the hardest but I would rank his left hook one of the best as his had great timing and he was the most consistant with it and even though its not the most powerful, hes more likely to get a tko victory with it. id rank em something like this...

            Left Hooks
            4. Tyson
            3. Tua (hardest)
            2. Frazier
            1. Morrison

Id rather have Tyson's Explosive power than be a more heavy handed fighter.

That would be Mr. Corso to you licka...k! hahaha!!! Tommy had good power but had a hell of a time "pulling the trigger"!! Tua was worse!!! Tua never did a damn thing when it was time to step up! He never got in top condition and wasn't taught how to attack longer jab or just didn't listen! If Tua had some real desire and willingness he could have caused problems for everyone in his era!! As for hooks Tommy was better because the hook had decent technique and he could snap it off and he was a srong kid. Tua had a hammer but beating up stepping stone guys is one thing but not being able to step up when needed just doesn't cut it!! He couldn't get by Monty Barrett and he fought 3 times I think! He squared up once he got tired and just never gave an all out effort. He seemed more concerned about his horrible looking trunks than earn big money!

The best hook ever by a heavy was Joe Louis's!!!! Upper inside hook, hook behind the right hand or off the jab!! Beautifull tecnique and power! Ray

u all seem to kinda agree, tua's hook crazy hard, morrisons quicker, more accurate. morrison more of an active pressure fighter. tua more a stalking wait for the big shot type of fighter. imo, by the time tua fought barrett he was way over the hill. just for kix, couple other hard hookers, cooney n weaver. how would u rate them two?

                      Morrison

Lot's of excellent Comments here, especially on Morrison, that I agree with, he had a perfect Left Hook, Tua was probably what I would call more heavy handed, & hit harder with more punches overall than Morrison, but late in a fight if they were losing & needed a KO, Morrison would be more likely to come up with one than Tua, both could give any HW in History a decent fight for a few rounds, until they either tired or were Knocked out, our outboxed.

Against each other, I can see Tua doing to Morrison what Mercer did, taking his punches & landing his own and taking him out, I give Morrison the edge for single Knockout ability, & Jab, & a slight boxing edge, but Tua just lands & Morrison's chin can't take it, which would be h is downfall in this fight & against any all-time great.
