If Arcel thinks so why differ???? Men like Benny Leonard and Willie Pep and Gans aren't really understood by todays younger generation on just how good they were. They were also frustrating as hell in that you couldn't square good shots on them. If and when you landed your best shots they would be glancing at best! They could also slice your face up with their speed and termemdous accuracy!
I like Duran alot more for his agression and power as a lightweight but I can understand Mr. Arcel's thinking about Duran never cathing up and squaring up against Leonard. The Master Boxers are after all the most talented of all the styles! Ray.

great insight Ray. Mr Arcel did also rate roberto very highly as one the greatest fighters of all time like how people rate louis and ali as 1a and 1b.

My favorite at lightweigh has always been Ike Williams, to me he has boxing skills at a high level using his hands and feet and all though his KO ratio isn't high he had terrific power combinations! Plus he had size at 5'9". He rarely was defeated as a lightweight and even out of his best years was competitive. All of them were great fighters who shared the will to win. Ray.
