Greek, I've only seen a small portion of Corbett's fight with Fitz and just a little bit of his exhibition fight with Courtney. I really can't accurately judge what I saw of Corbett because of those reasons, but he did look to have very good footwork ("glide" is a good word for it) and threw combinations with some regularity...But again, that's only from very limited viewing of him.

In regards to your question about how fast a fighter appears on those old fight films (which, depending on the man holding the crank camera's speed at which he turns it, could be either sped up or slowed down), all I really try to do is judge a fighter speed against his opponent's for that fight (which, if you have other fight footage of the fighters, you can compare down the line). I also do put some element of trust into what the old-timers said about a fighter or fighters, for the simple fact that they have seen those old-time fighters live and have room to compare.

A Small Part of the fight??? The highlights of round 1 and 14, is my guess.

      I have 5 rounds,

      1 6 and 14 are the ROUNDS I know.

I have no ideal what number are the other 2 rounds are. It seems that only 5 rounds made it, it runs about 20 mins, due to speed and all.

I'd have to dig out to be sure, but I don't even think I have the 14th round of that fight, because the KO is not something I can bring to memory at the moment. I think I might only have the first round, because even though the footage seemed to be slowed down quite a bit, I got the impression that the fighters were quite fresh (based on the way Corbett was moving and Fitzsimmons' difficulty in landing counter shots against Corbett, who was getting in & getting out quickly enough). Even then, I don't even think it's the full round...Not very much of it, at all.

I shock that you have the Jeffies fights, but not the 5 rounds of Corbett Fitz.

Yeah, that might be suprising considering both the significance/historical value of footage from the Fitzsimmons/Corbett fight and the fact that it's not all that difficult to find. I'm sure I'll get around to obtaining the five rounds eventually, but...I'm more of a Jeffries & Sharkey fan than I am of those other two, so that's probably the single biggest reason why I obtained that pretty rare Jeffries' footage first.

              first heavyweight title fight film.

And out side of Toney and Jones, upsetting Ruiz(Which I dont relly count for this)
Fitz was the FIRST former middleweight champ to win the heavyweight crown.

It was a pretty good fight. Your right it is not that hard to find.

That was one of the first fights I found.

The hardest fight I found by far, so far is that 8 rounds of Dempsey Tunney 1.

All I missing is rounds 7 and 8.

So close, and yet so far.

That's a really good find, Greek!

I, myself only have half of what you have from the first Tunney/Dempsey fight, as my copy shows rounds one, six, nine and ten...plus just a little bit of the postfight celebration.

But man, does Tunney ever look excellant in that fight with the jabs, evasive footwork, and numerous three & four punch combos all throughout what I have seen from the fight.

                      I HATE to break it 2 you. 1 6 9 10.

I relly hate to break it to you. Should I do it??? maybe not???

Round 1 is a later round(I guessing round 3 , I going to recheck my espn one, and recheck what round that is, BUT I KNOW ITS NOT THE FIRST ROUND)

                      Round 6 is right.

                      Round 9 is right.

But round ten is part of round ten, than they cut it, and give you MOST of round 4.

In Round 4, Dempsey ALMOST drops Tunney. (See the pic.)

The cut in round 4 is AFTER that. So you dont see the near knockdown, BUT it is still round 4.

Ok you can cry if you want.
