Not really, as long as I get my boxing I'm happy with whatever the length.
In England big fights usually start at about 5 AM (Main event) Another 3 rounds would mean staying up another 12 mins, rather the fight be over with so I can get the **** in bed.

in certain situations, yes, i'd appreciate them.

i don't "miss them" because i was not watching boxing when there were 15 round fights. if i wanted to watch a 15 round fight it would have to be one that's already happened. some of you guys are so damn old

that said, there are lots of fighters who are not fit for a 15 round distance, and plenty of fights i want to be over with after less than 12 rounds, never mind 15.

gesta vs vasquez, for example, was worse than a root canal.

What if they only did it for lineal championship fights?

It would really bring back the true championship fight, wouldn't it? Separate them from paper titles.

this would be a good idea. I am asuming it was the death of the korean fighter that ray mancini fought that put the pressure on the boxing organizations to limit the champ fights to 12.

            I'd like that.

In theory it'd help push older dudes out of the top spot unless they were REALLY still the best.

Only problem is how messed up the lineage can get sometimes. It'd give the sanctioning bodies even more power.

15 rounds is the perfect number, it allows slow-starting, thinking fighters to thrive at the championship level.

It's not like it will ever happen. Hard to really count on anyone in the boxing establishment to actually make something positive happen.

I missed them the moment they changed them. When they changed them the reason was given that it was to prevent injuries but the inside word was that the twelve round distance was better for the networks and airtime. Sad because within five years the networks quit showing boxing anyways and the sport was stuck with the shorter distance.

It is strange that many fighters back then were able to give it all for fifteen rounds and today's fighters struggle to go the full 12.

Really, no. I'm not sure it would be worth all fights being 3 rounds longer. Championship bouts, maybe, regular fights, no.

If there had been 15 rounds, Martinez wouldn't have gotten all macho and desperately tried to get the KO in the 12th despite definitely being the winner on the scorecards.
Regular fights never were 15 rounds. It was only championship fights that went 15. Regular fights were 10 rounds and fights between top-contenders who weren't champions went 12.

15 rounds championship fights were the shizzle IMO. Long enuogh to separate men from boys, and short enough for non stop action.
