    Did Marvin Haglers pre champion tests contribute to his greatness as a mw champ?

    He was not brought up easy for his title shot he fought all those philly middleweights that were rated contenders. Please post your thoughts.

      Absolutely helped him. He met a variety of fighters/styles and had a variety of results. What toughened him up and made him all the better was that he never got discouraged and came right back to the lion's den for revenge.

          For sure. It can also play an important role for legacy with Liston and Dempsey as examples where their pre title reign weighs heavily too.
