      He left that one out of the judges hands which always ensures your victory as Jack Blackburn told Joe Louis let your right hand be the ref.

        I agree with this. From 1980 until about 84, he was gold, but probably the best was 81-82. I don't think he was that good for the Hearns fight. He'd started to slow just that little bit by then imo.

          Hagler had to wait a long time to get his title shot. He was avoided before he became champion. I think he was at peak around the time he became champion or slightly before. Despite his performance in beating Hearns I think he just getting past his best then.

            Definitely agree with this. Thing is about hagler he was always hungry for that recognition, he stayed sharp and had a long "prime".
