I really like guys who could hook off the jab. I think Roy Jones was pretty good at it but I can't quite think of a lot of others. Joe Louis was wonderful with his punch selection. Young Tyson pretty much was tops, as well. Remember the rapid three jabs he threw at Tony Tubbs and the awesome finishing combo he laid on Pinklon Thomas!! I'd also mention prime Evander Holyfield. The Bert Cooper and George Foreman fights were a great example. Floyd Patterson was a phenom as he had the speed of a middleweight.
As far as the lighter weights I cannot leave out Julio Cesar Chavez with his incredible left hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body. Sugar Ray Leonard had an amazing ability to put fast & hard combo's together easily. The Hearns & LaLonde fights were complete evidence. Thomas Hearns had a lethal jab, straight right, and left hook combination. Tragic! Almost forgot.. Aaron Pryor was a GOD when it came to blistering combo's!!Last edited by Mintcar923; 08-30-2012, 08:14 PM.

Juan Manuel Marquez is the most scintillating combination puncher i have ever seen, His combo's flow like water....
Joe Louis and Mike Tyson had some beautiful and Devastating close range combinations
Roy Jones had the hand speed to throw anything he wanted at u, i seen him throw SEVEN consecutive left hooks once! He could really mix it up with flashy combo's though
Julio Cesar Chavez would let fly with that left over and over too! A well balanced and heavy handed combination puncher up and downstairs, beautiful to watch
Ray Leonard, Had the speed and flash to dazzle along with the power and placement to KO
