Hengky Gun is our heaviest ... at Super Featherweight. Yes, we Indonesians are tiny people. Although I'm certain there was an Indo guy (can't remember his name) fighting for the 140 lbs title against Saoul Mamby here in my hometown. He lost a decision.

Thomas Americo. Funny, I was just reading about these bouts in the Johnny Lewis biography.

What are the highest weight division world titles won by boxers from the major countries involved in Boxing? And I am talking about boxers born in that country (and who also lived there for at least ten years of their lives) who went on to win a major world belt.

Feel free to add countries I may have missed too. As well as filling in the gaps?

I've put in a few guesses.....

Argentina - Light Heavy - Galindez (Thanks TBear)
Australia - Cruiser - Danny Green
        Brazil - ?
        Colombia - Welter?
        Cuba - ?
France - Cruiser - Mormeck (maybe others)
        Ireland - ?
Japan - No idea. Have they had a Middleweight Champion?
        Mexico - Light Heavy?
Panama - Cruiser - Guillermo Jones
Philippines - That fella at middleweight who drew with Henry Armstong?
Puerto Rico - Cruiser - Carlos De Leon
Spain - Light Heavy - Campillo was Champ for about 15 seconds.
Thailand - No idea. Light Welter?
        Venezuela - Welter?

I've left off USA, UK, Italy & Germany as they've all obviously had heavyweight Champions.

        Thanks.

rodrigo valdez was a damn good MW and a two time world champion.
        he's colombian

juan carlos gomez was a cuban and a CW world title holder.

Yes indeedy. Thank you. I could have looked it up but wanted someone else to share the knowledge. I remember once reading that he perfected the bolo punch before Kid Gavilan.

I left off countries which have had Heavyweight Champions. Bit redundant & all that.

Ike holds Ghana's spot at welter.

                    Sam Peter gets Nigeria

Guillermo Jones gets Panama at cruiser.

                    David Haye gets England
