Still hard to believe he's brown bread. Anyone else used to enjoy watching him plod his way to another win over old Americans. The average age of his opponents must have been about 50

Anyway, I knew he'd never win a world title - or even get close - but he was fun to watch. Shame he didn't get to live his life to the fullest extent.

I recall reading in a boxing mag back in the '80's that a reader had predicted he'd have given Tyson a really good fight...

I thought it was too bad he stopped fighting after the discouraging loss to Lennox. There was no shame in losing to a two time olympian, especially Lewis. He still could have had some good fights.

I'd agree that Mason has been underrated. If he were around now I'd give him an excellent chance to beat anyone not named Klitschko.

Foreman would have hurt Mason, bad!

I'm not familiar with Mason, what about him could threaten Big George?

He got a detached retina in an earlier fight which got made worse in the Lewis fight.

He dabbled in everything though. Rugby, arm wrestling competitions, tv shows and more. A real character.
