  • Doing homework!

Hey! first off, I really love you tube because of its accessibility and easy to use search engine. It makes great for late night rumishing.

Anyway, I come to you tonight (you being frequent posters and lurkers of the history subforum!) in search of answers and direction. I'm an aspiring boxer, I'm looking to compete (in the amateurs for now) soon and I'm trying to discover any historic (or even recent/current) fighters and study the sweet science that pumps through the heart of boxing. I'm looking for fighters that range from 118-135, which would be my weight ranges.

So far, I've tried my hardest to summon up as many names as I possibly can and this is the list I've gotten so far

    Alexis Arguello
    Roberto Duran
    Pernell Whitaker
    Erik Morales
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Floyd Mayweather Jr
    Roger Mayweather
    Manny Pacquiao
    Naseem Hamed
    Kevin Kelley
    Oscar De la Hoya
    Kennedy McKinney
    Julio Cesar Chavez

This is about all I know, I've only been into boxing for sometime (in and out for years, Consistently since a year and a half ago) I've tried to follow their careers as much the internet and youtube allows me to. Even at that, I still haven't gone through ALL their videos. Now, this isn't all I watch but I figure I have to know my (potential) divisions in and out!

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, even if its advice on how to watch any of the previous fighters, any fighters you may think I missed that are worth watching or just the great discussion of how good or bad a fighter was!

    Thanks!

Are you specifically looking for fighters whose footage is decent and in colour? Or are you willing to go further back?

Watch some Salvador Sanchez, Wilfredo Gomez and Carlos Zarate. They are good fighters and fun to watch, all have power.

I'm more concerned about resolution rather than color and such but those things aren't a factor. I'm willing to do what it takes to learn everything and anything I can.

All worth a look. Some boxers, some bombers.
