I still can't decide what type of fighter Pac really is. He shows massive flaws that in certain fights, to me anyway, see him get knocked out. At these weights, 135, 140, 147 etc, I simply cannot, no matter what he does today, see him beat any of the great fighters. There are just too many holes in his game and too many small things that happen in his fights that, to me, seem as though he'd get knocked out or just soundly beaten.

Mosley is a funny one though. I'd favour prime Mosley (the guy that fought Oscar at 147) over Pac by KO or TKO. I just don't see today's Pac being able to take the shots he does against a guy like prime Mosley.

I see too much of a difference in the guy that Pac beat in Mosley and Oscar to the two versions of those guys that fought prime for prime at 147 all those years ago. They are not remotely the same fighters that Pac fought. Not even remotely the same and I just can't see Pac ever beating those versions.

As great as he is, and as much as he has accomplished, and as fun as he is to watch, I can't ever see him beating any of the greats from 135 to 147....especially 147. He would never, ever get through Leonard, Robinson, Napoles, Griffith, Rodriguez etc etc. He has benefitted greatly from the era and timing of his overall run. He came just after Morales and Barrera's greatest days, and then at his peak has just fought too many over the hill guys. Despite that, he has still accomplished amazing, amazing things in our sport and beaten a slew of greats which prove him to be a great, just not close to the legend that many make him out to be.

Him fighting a 40 year old, slow, little reflex Marquez just once again showed to me what I always felt; that against anyone who can fight smart, with precision, skill, power and more than one dimension can not only give him hell, but at these weights especially (which Marquez is not even close to being anything resembling great at), beat him resoundingly.

The Mosley that Pac fought is a different fighter altogether than the one that fought at 147 in the late 90's/early 00's. Don't forget, that's ten years difference. An entire decade from his peak years.

I agree about 147, because Pacquiao's size plays such an issue. When he's fighting other greats at welterweight, who are not only vastly bigger but just as fast, just as strong, Pac isn't beating those guys.

I disagree about 135 and 140 though. Those were arguably Pac's best weights, even in only two fights combined at those weights. With his speed, power, and style, anyone who tried to outfight him would be in serious trouble, and there's a lot of those guys. I also disagree that simply being able to move and box patiently isn't enough. Marquez and Morales are the only two guys who have done that, and Pacquiao arguably beat Marquez all three times. I know everyone disagrees with me on the third fight, but that was no robbery.

A big part of this question does depend on where this fight is taking place. Was Mosley prime at 135, and that's where this fight takes place? I'm confident picking Pacquiao at that weight. If we are talking 147, I'm far less confident, but I'd still pick Pacquiao. Mosley is a brawler, yes in his prime he did more than that but he would see the little guy in front of him and think he could just outfight him, and Pacquiao loves that. Great fight, and I'm not confident at 147 about my pick, but I don't think Mosley outfights Manny Pacquiao.
