Easier Opponent For The Dancing Master

He definitely wasn't. He was no taller than 6'3" and a good 210 pounds. Once again Butterfly (this time literally) tries to build Ali's opponents up.
Cleve was also well past his prime when Ali fought him, having been shot with a .35 to the stomach. That is the real reason Ali looked so great in beating him. A prime Williams would have given Ali a great fight.

Originally posted by Angelo DundeeI've seen Liston destroy Cleveland Williams. Destroy him! And Cleveland Williams is a big guy, he's like 6'-6". And when Liston flattened him out, he covered the whole ring!

Still a big guy obviously, but not the towering giant Butterfly is trying to make him out to be.
