I've had more than a little experience with cancer and you're dead accurate I'm afraid

And its not like most of us would want to trade places with Ali right now either.

That is how I read it, very sad news. The ironic thing is that I think Joe has been so torn up with Ali over the years that he probably doesn't realise the respect and affection there is for him.
How ever long he's reckoned to have he'll exceed, man is a warrior.

I know how you feel but cancer is like kryptonite for everyone young or old (especially for the old).

Anyway, here is some measured facts that the American media tries to hide from present to future generations of people of how insanely controversial the Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier were back in those days. The Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather is a pale comparison to how brutal and negative the hype around the Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier fight.

I heard from my dad that Muhammad Ali once fired a pistol at where Joe Frazier's hotel a day or two away from fight night. They have a video reel capturing Joe Frazier hitting the floor as gun fire was shot at his room and video of Muhammad Ali firing the pistol. Now, you can't even find the video of the incident.

                An article of it:

Frazier soaked it all up like a sponge. When they arrived in Manila it was the same story. Ali poured scorn on his opponent. Humiliated him. Joe had the heart of a lion but verbally he was out of his depth when Ali got going. One time, as fight day approached, Ali spotted Frazier on a hotel balcony, grabbed a security guard's gun and fired some rounds at him. Everybody knew it wasn't live ammo but it still startled the hell out of Joe. "Go back in your hole, Gorilla," Ali ranted. "You gonna scare the people! Come out again and I'm gonna kill ya before time!"

                Here is the link:

Another video that deals with animosity of the hype between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.

Anyway, let us just hope Joe Frazier pulls through.

Thank you for everything Joe, you ****ing great great man.

Always reminded me of a real life super hero, gave his life to the sport, didn't deserve this, not yet, always had a smile on his face and looked like he had an eternity left, can only hope he goes peacefully.

Thoughts go to his family and friends.
