      He sounds like an absolute nutcase. KO'd Lou Ambers for the LW title then went mental spending all his money on whiskey women and cars (per wiki). Fought with a broken neck vs Sammy Angott and went the 15rnd distance

      Eventually won a Silver Star in WWII.

      His chapter in 'In This Corner' is well worth a read.
