Young Peter Jackson ; "The Baltimore Demon"
I have been reading up on Young Peter Jackson and it appears that he's not in either HALL Of FAME...... Should The Baltimore Demon be in the Hall of Fame ????...................Young Peter Jackson, real name, Sim Thompkins who is known by the moniker "The Baltimore Demon"....... Jackson was a Welterweight through most of his career, he normally weighed around 148 but later reached 160.... he was average height for a Welterweight, 5ft 6in. He was born on 31st 1877 in Baltimore, Maryland. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Although a small man, Jackson managed some magnificent performances against much taller and/or taller men..... he holds victories over such men as Sam Langford, by T.K.O. 5,... Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, by T.K.O. 13 (as well as knocking out O'Brien in the 2nd.... unfortunately, O'Brien won by D.Q,).....Barbados Joe Walcott K.O. 4,... Mysterious Billy Smith K.O. 2,..... Tom Tracey,... Dan Creedon,..Black Pearl, Mexican Pete Everett, Australian Jimmy Ryan, Mike Donovan, Jack Twin Sullivan & Joe Butler to name a few -------------- He also fought Jack Johnson with the predictable result,...... he also has a loss against the great Young Griffo but he was almost a novice and he was on the wrong end of it and was DQ'd in the 3rd. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Young Peter Jackson had 148 FIGHTS,... He Won 77,..... with 59 K.O.'s,....... he lost 24 (he usually fought much heavier men),. NOTE : He was renowned for his fouling, he lost st least a quarter of his fights by D.Q..... with 26 Draws with 14 No Contest fights.--------------------------- He was stopped only twice, once by Mysterious Billy Smith and very early to William Kid Parker.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see, this man was one very hard and tough badass,........ Young peter Jackson would fight anyone, anywhere and at any weight....... he was one of the all-time great ****ers, he punched way above his weight......... He fought Sam Langford 6 times, Jack Johnson, Joe Walcott 5 times, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, Mysterious Billy Smith 2 times, Mike Donovan, Joe Jeannette, Young Griffo, Gunboat Smith & Dixie Kid......... Most of his opponents he fought in series of 3 or more times.............. He was a very agressive badass.......................... Where do you rate him ??? and what do you think of his resume ???....... I wrote a post about the Third Walcott V Jackson on the Greatest Fights thread,..... just so you can get a feel for it.................. COMMENTS !!
