He was past his VERY best for the Harada fights, and I thought he derserved the 1st fight. I rememember reading a little bio book on Jofre and the book said while he was still elite he wasn't what he once was.

And he did KO Medel twice, so whilst he didnt have it all his own way he did end up winning KO both times.

And Boxing Maths dosent really work.

it isnt boxing math. Zarate puts on pressure like both Medal and Harada, except for the fact that hes overall better than both and has a lot more power than both. Not to mention his left hook to the body and combination punching was better than both.

I think stylistically Zarate is a problem for Jofre, and in terms of overall ability hes clearly superior to anyone that Jofre faced.

First off no way is Zarate greater than Harada. Harada beat the better fighters and had much more success through the weights. Zarate's resume is quite padded, that cant be denied.

The best fighter Zarate ever faced in Gomez, he wasn't even competitive. And Jofre>>>>>Gomez all day.

Jofre had a cast iron chin. While Zarate would cause him problems, Jofre would cause Zarate alot more.

lol at Harada being better than Zarate. Harada got knocked out by Medal, and I really hope youre not going to claim that Medal was better or a bigger puncher than Zarate.

Zarate had an off night against Gomez where he had to make weight multiple times, it was a screw up on his part. not to mention he was going up in weight. At bantamweight, he should have been undefeated.

Zarate may have koed a lot of bums, but he also koed a lot of excellent competition as well, such as Benecio Sosa, Rodolfo Martinez, Paul Ferreri, Alfonso Zamora, Alberto Davila, and should have gotten the decision over Pintor.

Zarate would have undoubtedly beaten Harada had they fought. Zarate was bigger, stronger, hit much harder, and had just as many offensive tools as Harada.

I don't know about their first fight, but I have Jofre-Medal II and Jofre was both impressive and dominant.

I like how Zarate just gets a pass for his one sided loss. Funny how he wasnt even competitve against the best fighter he ever fought.

Do you know much about Harada man?

He should of really been a 3 weight world champion.

He was Flyweight, Bantamweight(Undisputed), and he got totally robbed when going for the Feathweight Title against Famechon. He knocked Famechon down 3 times and controlled nearly the enite fight, but yet Willie Pep scored it a draw. Outragous.

He done this in all the legit weight classes, not ****** Jr or Super.

Add to that he also beat a top 25 ATG when he was unbeaten and did it twice.

Really great & underrated fighter. Harada>Zarate

I wouldn't necessarily compare Zarate to Harada. Zarate was more of a punching threat, with great ability to set up those knockouts, but he did not put on an intense amount of pressure. Zarate would find it rather difficult to KO Jofre who had a very good chin, quick recovery abilities and a tight defensive guard on top of it.

Been thinking about he matches up against the greats for awhile now. I agree and I hate myself for it.

thats the one I was referencing. Jofre gets hit by a lot of flush right hands.

doesnt change the fact he was laid out by Medal, and I consider Zarate substantially better than Medal. I have no doubt Zarate would have beaten Harada, although Harada might have a better legacy.

Brian Mitchell decisions Azumah Nelson. Very close decision.
