I am intrigued by Monzoon...the way he lived life outside teh ring suggessted his tank will be empty, but on the contrary he always seemed to have enough stamina.

I will say Marciano has the best stamina of all heavyweights. His training regime helped. Never saw him gassed. Always throwing punches, always the same tenacious approach. Jim Jeffries had amazing stamina. Went 20-25 rounds and was surely tough.

But although I saw Ali gassed atleast a few times, the most remarkable show of stamina that I viewed came from him in Thrilla in Manilla, when after being exhausted he came out and simply tore into Frazier. Angelo Dundee said after the fight: "Both guys ran out of gas, only my guy had an extra tank".

He was just a physical freak/anomaly.
