Nsb pick Mayweather over Robinson at 147 and I got called a "nostalgic lover of old fighters with my black and white picture" () an also was shot down for arguing that Kid Gavilan is as talented and skilled as Mayweather and how ****** I was for believing someone like Gavilan who has "wild ass punches" can be compared to Mayweather ()
Typical NSB nuthuggery :geek9: I'd like to know how a dude that throws 20 punches a round is supposed to beat a fighter of Gavilan's caliber :chuckle9:
I only see him having trouble with Duran - I do think he can beat him (as Duran has lost at LW), but rest I really believe Floyd has a great chance at beating.
Roberto Duran could destroy anyone at LW. I would never favor anyone against him there.
I agree. I think Mayweather is competitive with anyone at 140 and below.
I think their is a list of fighters who beat him at 135. The division is way to stacked, as you know.
Someone like Ike Williams, for example, would be a nightmare for Mayweather.
But, he's competitve with anyone although I'd pick alot over him at that weight.
As for 130, I pick him over everyone. Including Arguello.
At 147, and I tried to explain this in NSB but unfortunately I don't think they understand it without getting super defensive about the guy from their era. But at 147, his 4th weight class, he's out of his league with the ATG's. He's overmatched and will lose to long list of fighters there.

I pretty much agree with this. I'd just add that at 135, alot depends on whether his hands stay in tact or not. If his hands break, it's a guaranteed loss against guys like Duran, he can't pull they same stuff against those guys as he did against JCL. If his hands stay in tact, I am sure he can edge out a decision against many and possibly knock some out. Much more active and aggressive at the lower weights and was still crazy illusive.
I just don't agree with the 147 comment. He can definitely hang with the 147 greats. Leonard, he loses to. Hearns, he can hang, depends on if he catches the rhythm and range, if not, he gets beat up pretty bad. Duran, he beats, embarrasses. Robinson, I think it can go either way. Old school mentality is the reason why, whereas Floyd has no problem avoiding contact in the ring.
I pretty much agree with that quote though. There are many ATGs who can beat him but it's vice versa. He would beat many ATGs as well. He may be a douche at times but his skill, ability, and boxing IQ is unquestionable.

Mayweather is your favourite fighter as well is he not?

I agree about Gavilan, he was brilliant and he goes the Distance with Floyd, and maybe win over 15. In a 15 or 12 or 10 round bout Robinson wins by TKO or KO./---------------------------- But those are WW's and I'm here to talk about LW's. We had a discussion about Duran V Floyd and Roberto was the Thread favourite, so that's enough about that. Benny LEONARD :--Leonard fought a lot of 20 rounders and therefore was in great condition in big fights. BL is in my opinion on another level and I pick him to win by UD....15 or 12 rounds.....Ike Williams :--This is probably a close one, Ike I think can TKO Floyd in a 15 rd fight around the 14th..... I think Floyd wins a tough decision,... not on the cards, but in punishment...... JC Chavez :--- Floyd takes a decision, but even though JCC was very tough and a great chin,.... Floyd Could knock him out, I see him getting too many good shots in, but would need to be "ON" or his ribs will hurt for weeks...........I will think about a few more macthups soon,,.......But now I'll see the rest of these posts,.... maybe something to comment on....... Pepe !!.
Duran beats him decisively, I also think Camacho has the style and is faster than Floyd he can beat Floyd decisively.
There are some LW's that beat Floyd,,,,,,,,,, But he knocks Camacho out. FMjr is just too good for Hector.................... That Hector anyway,,,,,, The Trojan HEKTOR kills Floyd very quickly,.. but we all know that.
