Would Henry Armstrong went after the Lightheavyweight title

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Garcia not just California State World Champion, or something like that? And I'm pretty sure that Armstrong only weighed 144 in that fight, too. No way he would've gone up to 175.

Garcia was the NYSAC Middleweight champ but the Armstrong fight was for the California State World Championship and not the NYSAC. So even if Armstrong had won the fight it could have been questioned whether he really was the Middleweight champion, especially as it was only a 10 round fight. Whichever way you look at it though Armstrong was beyond awesome!
