  • Salvador Sanchez vs. Henry Armstrong

Who wins this featherweight matchup? Sanchez would look good at times, I think, but his willingness to try and counter-off the ropes would lead to him getting outlanded by the furious windmill that was Hammerin' Hank. I can almost see a Thrilla in Manilla type grueling war of attrition, only with the pressure fighter having the advantage more than the counterpuncher.

No way I can go past Hank on this one, I mean he's Top 10 ATG on at least 80 % of every ATG list there ever was, including here at boxing scene. Not only that but he was WW champ,..... simply impossible for Sanchez, to ever hurt Armstrong AND you had to be able to hurt Hank or he simply walks through them and does a DALEK,....... exterminate ........... ...... I say 80 %, it's approximation of course, but I emphasise this point, All lists are different and there is no such thing as the definitive list,...... they are fun, but never definitive.

Yes, I do think it would go the distance, but Sanchez would be in bad shape after 15.

I don't think that Armstrong would hurt Sanchez, either. He took Wilfredo Gomez's best punches flush on the chin and literally never changed his expression. He just wasn't bothered by getting hit.

i think shanchez would loose usless he got on his bicycle bigtime and then he could win a close one.

Yeah. I don't think he'd get on his bicycle. First, it's hard to run when your balls are the size of coconuts and second, Armstrong didn't let you go anywhere. He was like a super Ricky Hatton when it comes to pressure, just always in your face.

Hank had more power than Gomez and would be hitting him a lot more.
