  • Michael Watson's punching prowess

I know Watson isn't generally regarded as a knockout king or a big puncher, but 21 of his 25 wins come by way of knockout. Thats a pretty high rate for someone who isn't considered a puncher. This means he KNEW how to punch, even if he didn't possess that big a punch. And that is more important than having the power I think. I do believe Michael had SOME power, I mean he def could hurt guys, even bigger guys than himself. Don Lee is a good example. He was 6'2 and a very big mw, with a 27-2 record as well. What Watson did to him was truly impressive, he demolished him within 5 rounds! And against Benn, Watson let Dark Destroyer punch himself out, but he also landed the right punch to put him down and out.

So it was about throwing the right punch at the right time and Watson was the master of that.

Watson had a right hand to be respected at very least, but he is a step down from ur Nigel Benn's and such in terms of power imo

His overarm right scored almost all of his KDs/KOs, amateur and pro.

Let's not forget he took out John Beckles in 30 seconds with it in '84 in the London ABA final. Beckles only lost to the top Cubans/Russians apart from that.

Eubank went down against Greg George and Benn, but both were slips.
