The 90's rivaled the 70's as far as ATG's are concerned but OP got it right as far as wasted talent. Tyson went to jail too many times in addition to losing his license for a couple of years. Bowe went downhill quick. Evander had some medical problems in the early part of the decade. And Lewis hadn't really come of age, yet...

Furthermore, there were other good fighters such as Moorer, Mercer, Morrison, Briggs, Ibeabuchi, and Tua...
Tyson was way too inconsistent and past it in the 90s. Bowe really only had a good few years. Lewis started to get good at the end of the 90s.

Yeah forgot about Holyfield. Even though he was arguably better at the lower weights, he was probably the best of the 90s.

Moorer wasn't that great tbh. not that good power at HW, shaky chin, and not the strongest guy at that weight. Morrison had a shaky chin, and didn't have good stamina. Briggs was okay. Ibeabuchi was wasted talent like you said. Tua had a great punch, and that's it.

There are plenty of contenders that are better then those guys you just listed. I'm not going to bother to list them because you know who they are.

      Unbelivable!

Ali vs Young was one of the worst heavyweight title fights ever. Just dreadfully dull with a bad decision to top it off.

I'm curious to see if anyone disagrees with the 70's.

Only because Ali showed up in bad shape and tried to rope a dope Young the whole fight.

Young was doing his own thing. He deserved to win that

NO doubt. But he still should've been able to do more. I mean my point was it wasn't young's fault.

I agree he was robbed, but Young didn't do himself any favors by fighting defensively and continously ducking back behind the ring ropes. It didn't make for exciting action either.
