I always thought that Cotto looked at his absolute best early on in his career. After becoming successful it seems as if his footwork suffered, and he was not as crisp of a puncher. Watch his first fights, then watch his later fights and tell me if you see what I mean. When he was young he had it all. Crisp jab, phenomenal footwork (which is still very good and looked better against Yuri Foreman than it had in his previous fights as far as I'm concerned), and more movement. He just looks like he fought a lot harder and more focused.
that was his career in a nutshell and the night i think he looked the best. that's also the best zab judah i've ever seen
and cotto // margarito, at the time, even being a cotto fan through and through, was a game changer for me
i've never seen a fight turn in that nature. cotto just couldn't take those punches late in the fight
not one of them
every punch was depleting him for good. you could see him losing it
and i honestly thought about all the great fighters that fell off immediately
we later found out why
he was never the same
and to his credit, margarito showed the best chin i've ever seen in a live prizefight
he just kept coming
i couldn't believe what was going on
i havn't watched that fight in years and do not plan on it for quite some time
