I agree had he been in his prime in the early 80s or late 2000s he would of been considered a great

Ron Lyle would run through today's heavyweight division like a freight train slicing through fog.
The Klischtko's would get humiliated by Ron Lyle. He was very underrated because he was stuck in an era of historic greatness.
Today, Ron Lyle would be Undisputed Heavyweight Champion and the two Klitschko Brothers would just be his sparring partner.

Ron Lyle is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters.
I agree withScott, he lacked skill due to no AM background, but I think he is one of the hardest hitters that the division has seen. I'm going to have to rewatch his fight with Ali. That was an odd fight.

I'm a big fan of Lyle. That era that had him, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Jimmy Ellis, Jimmy Young, Oscar Bonavena, Quarry was my all time favorite era in heavyweight history.
But being realistic, no matter how nostalgic I may feel about guys like Lyle, Ellis, Quarry & Bonavena, the fact of the matter is that I would not feel comfortable betting on them against either Klitschko.
I just can't understand or grasp why some people are so against the Big K's??? What do they have to do to get even some respect from some guys here???

Add in their punching power & Ron Lyle is in for one heck of a long night.

Excellent comments Terry. I've been perplexed reading how various inferior talents and vastly undersized contenders of the past would humiliate two giants who have dominated this era.Last edited by Scott9945; 07-11-2011, 11:53 PM.

A good brawler, that's about it. Tried to brawl it out with foreman and nearly had him, but then paid the price.
You're on meth if you think he would give a K bro any problems. The guy was just a brawler with a big punch. It would be like vitali vs briggs.
