I was young but some of you guys remember the night Mike Tyson knocked out Michael Spinks.

I was with some friends. We where playing darts and getting hammered. We where quite drunk when the fight was to start and we where very exited. Then there was this long delay because of something I cannot remember and they said Tyson was so mad that he had punched a hole in his dressingroom wall.

When the fighters finally made it to the ring it was about 6 o'clock in the morning and we where tired and hammered but exited. ....and then it was over after a mere 91 seconds. What a letdown lol.

Not always easy to watch fights live from fatyankeesyan.

FEAR. Spinks was beat before it started, paralysed. Tyson said at that after dinner speaking thing i went to a while back that Spinks was just lookin for a spot on the canvas to dive on. Remember Spinks standing at the mike and pretending to freak out "I DONT WANNA GO IN THERE!" or whatever it was he said before laughing it off? He was probably for real!

Exactly. I watched the fight with my dad as it was happening and when Spinks was climbing in the ring we looked at each other and said simultaniously "he's pissing his pants.....he'll lay down at the first meaningful punch". A frightened rabbit was what I thought he looked like.

Tyson delt with the rabbit accordingly in Mike's defence. But it took away from the win imo as it wasnt a contest from the moment u saw how terrified Spinks was. Then again it adds to the aura of fear and intimidation Tyson brought back then

BTW quick question u might know more than i do on, the delay coming out where Tyson drilled a right hand threw a wall in frustration - was that Spinks just too scared to even leave his dressing room? Ive heard that thrown out there but am unsure
