Off the top of my head ...

    1. LaMotta
    2. Chuvalo
    3. Hagler
    4. Chavez
    5. Ali

A few other guys who have stood out more recently as having great chins ... Wayne Mccollough, Vitali Klitschko, David Tua, Oliver Mccall, Mosley, Margarito

Jake Lamotta without a doubt taking Robinsons best punches who is one of the top p4p punchers and not going down. Consideration has to go to Harry Greb also stopped twice in over 300 bouts.

Why is no one making a case for James Toney? Do you think Hagler or LaMotta could move up to HW and survive? Or any other middleweight in the modern era? Come on now.

because Toney's ability to go up to heavyweight mostly had to do with his clever boxing style, particularly his defense which diffuses a lot of Heavyweight power. The heavyweights that Toney faced had weight behind their shots, but not a lot of snap. that means rolling with the punches and diffusing them with parries works even better than usual. not to mention the guys he faced at HW werent exactly legends(Holyfield was most definitely past prime at that point).

Toney definitely had a very good chin, but realisitcally he showed more damage to punches than someone like Hagler or LaMotta, who could simply soak up clean shots when they needed to. Toney was badly rocked against Reggie Johnson, although to be fair Johnson was a good fighter and puncher and you can make a case for Toney being weight drained. which is why Toney has a very good chin. but not quite a LaMotta or Hagler one, imo.

This thread needs vids! I'll start off.

Although he was stopped by Bute (on a bodyshot) I still maintain that Librado Andrade has one of the toughest beards of the modern era. The amount of flush shots he took in combination from a prime Kessler was unreal. His head looked like a speed bag at times.

lol now obviously I wouldn't suggest bert cooper as having the best chin ever or even being in the same league as the guys mentioned here but I remember him taking an incredible amount of punishment in that holyfield fight - think the guy just had an out of body performance or something that night.
