    tua had decent enough handspeed.

it was his footwork that was kinda slow. especially after he blew up to 240-250 lbs.

i don't know what your definition of top flight fighter is......but he was a top 10 contender for almost a decade.

he also had several wins over "champions" even though he never won a belt himself.

      lucky punch over ruiz?

Kind of slow? His footwork couldn't get more plodding if you tied his ankles together.

Considering he's flat-out wrong about damn near everything he posts about I don't see what's there to learn. Regardless, he's no different from any of the other 90% of posters around here that are a waste of time: He's interested in posting propoganda for his favorite fighters rather than having any sort of intellectual stimulation.

he wasn't too bad in 220-225 days.

he got really slow when he balloned up to 240-245.

he was fast enough to get close to most of his opponents. not an easy thing when you're giving up 4-5 inches in height and 7-8 inches in reach.

You don't really need any kind of speed to get to kind of opponents that make up the bulk of Tua's resume. When he stepped up in class it became a glaring liability.

              • i think the main thing that this guy is forgetting is that tua wasn't even a champion and lost miserably to most top fighters he fought if he wasnt even a champ in his era how is he going to beat most of these guys who are all time greats and some even regained the title numerous times its simple they went to the top and beat elite opposition tua couldnt beat byrd ibeabuchi lewis and rahman

                • The same Tua who was a play doll for Hasim Rahman, one of the worst titilelists ever?

No chance, This is one overrated fighter.

and how much speed do you think tua will need to catch the speedy marciano? the slick frazier? the dancing jack johnson?

stepped up in class? as in just lennox lewis right? one fight.

because byrd and ike is pretty much in the same class as guys like maskaev , izon , oquendo , rahman. that level.

and he got a few wins against that "class" of opponents.

                      no one is overrating him.

we're not even rating anybody here.

we're talking head to head matchups.
