  • Say Frazier retires after the FOTC?

What does it do to the following fighters rankings on a HW list?

    Foreman

Foreman no doubt best win is Frazier with this taken out he has a weak resume which would lose him a whole lot of points on rankings.

    Ali

Ali would never win the Thrilla in Manilla or the 2nd fight with Frazier which would make it more obvious that Louis is No1.

    Frazier

Then again Frazier would get accused for ducking an Ali re-match with Ali going crazy about the result and all. Which again could lose him legacy points and he also does not beat a few contenders he fought possibly futher losing points?

    Your thoughts?

I think Frazier would be remembered a whole lot better, he is an under appreciated fighter in my eyes. Alot think he just gave Ali hell but he was a true great in his own right.

After he beat Ali what did he do other than lose the two rematches, Get squashed by Foreman and go over old ground with Ellis and Quarry? Not alot.

If he'd have retired after FOTC he would most likely be remembered as a Top 5 guy in most peoples eyes for sure. He'd be undefeated and have a win over Ali who would be great with or without Joe.

Foreman's CV takes a big hit tho

It would have been odd for him to retire at 27/28 and in good health. To me Frazier's loss to Foreman doesn't take much from his legacy. He lost to an ATG whose style was kryptonite to him. Frazier only lost to two men: Ali and Foreman (one is arguably the best of all time the other is TOP 10.

He should of retired after manila, but he took one last go at foreman (not counting his one fight return in the early 80s).

Frazier should have never fought George Foreman. He could have beaten Ali again.

              Sadly..............

Id love to watch Frazier in the flesh tho, tearing into a Wladomir or a Haye with his vicious body work and Left Hooks!

Seriously whats not to like about Joe Frazier? Cant understand that guy in the Fantasy fight section who seems to hate him
