Recommend me some good Jack Johnson fights

I'm watching his fight with Ketchel and, I've got to admit, I'm not impressed. It looks like he's got pretty quick hand but he doesn't look like anything special. I know there's not much footage of him, but this is remastered pretty well. Any other fights where his greatness is more apparent?

Jack Johnson is one of the least entertaining fighters I've ever watched so I can't recommend any of his fights. If he fought today he would fit right in and the division would still be dead.

Johnson is one of the more overrated HWs, simply because he was the first black Heayweight champ(which means nothing).

he spent his title reign fighting 170lb guys and beating up an old man retired Jeffries. his win over Langford means little, since Langford weighed less than 160lbs agaisnt him, and he never gave him a rematch when Langford was actually HW sized.

Ive never been overly impressed with him either. grabbed opponents constantly.

        Definitely the impression I'm getting.

I consider him among my TOP 5 heavyweights of all time even though the game was much different then. Boxing was illegal so we had unofficial newspaper decisions; what we know consider to be dirty fighting was allowed; no neutral corner; 45 round fights (meaning you went until someone was KO).

He fought under those rules, grabbed, held, pushed, pulled, frustrated, then countered (imagine Bernard Hopkins not Roy Jones). Add to it that the film SUCKS and yeah -- who really wants to watch his fights. BUT he cleared out a division for years (yes he avoided black fighters - most of whom he beat earlier).

Now, a reason not to include him (or Dempsey) is that the neutral corner rule is a big change as is the fight until one person is KOed (the 45 round bouts). JJC would have knocked out Meldric Taylor with that rule, you can be certain of that.

Tommy Burns. For obvious reasons there is not a lot of footage to go on. Tommy was a good fighter and Johnson moided da bum.
