A definite mismatch as Bernard would make Leonards speed useless and just impose his will as the fight went on. I got Bernard by a late KO I think it would be very similar to Oscar fight. Its not fair to Leonard to match him up against big middleweights like Bernard.

Hopkins isn't much taller than Hagler, & their reach is the same.
It's a truly intriguing fight, BTW.

???? Bernard(6'1 or 6'2) is a good 3 or 4 inches taller then Hagler(5'10) and Bernard has much longer arms. Hagler "reach" came from his broad shoulders.

I'm not sure I agree with that.
He would have to fight the perfect fight(did leonard have that in him at this point?) and B-Hop would have to be at his worst(Taylor II). I just don't see many if any scenarios where Leonard can win. But as I said it is an unfair comparison because Leonard was past his prime already and B-Hop is just a much much bigger man the size differential would be staggering.

When analyzing this you must remember that the '87 Leonard fought a much older and slower Hagler at the time. Ya know, even watching that fight today it just seemed that Hagler became hesitant in that fight in the very early rounds. It was as if he was not wanting to just go after Leonard in fear of possibly looking bad in doing so. Hopkins would look bad, silly, spasmatic or even retarted to get to Leonard to inflict some damage.
In this bout I would see Hopkins missing awhole lot but never seising on going straight after him. After Leonard begins to tire and slow down in round 6 or 7 Hopkins continues his pursuit and eventually catches Ray where each time he would inflict some proper damage. Eventually Ray no longer has the legs nor strength to keep Hopkins off of him and Hopkins stops him late in the fight..........Rockin'

I think Leonard does pretty much the same as he did against Hagler, and it will be up to the judges to decide. BTW, that means I think Hopkins would win.
