    Outside boxers who were short

Its often stated that being tall automatically means that you would want to stay on the outside, but thats always necessarily true. who are some outboxers who were often shorter/harder shorter reach than their opponents?

Willie Pep and Montell Griffin come to my mind.
    any others?

Whitaker, though he fought at all distances.

Marvin Hagler, though he had an unusually long reach.

Yeah reach is generally more important than height.

floyd mayweather comes to mind (although he doesnt fight big guys, he's not a tall WW and he's a pure boxer on the outside and into middle distances exclusively)

willie pep is probably the greatest example
but he was also an in the pocket type guy, he was just so fast that guys couldnt hit him

juan manuel marquez only fights guys that come to him, but he's smaller than his competition these days

chris byrd wasnt a big HW and he liked to box

          spadafora comes to mind

zab was never a monster WW
and he was a frontrunner boxer with a bit of pop at WW

cotto's no longer a destroyer like he used to be
ever since he fought mosley he's learned to win rounds off the jab without coming in with much behind it
and at jrMW he's short and not long in the reach

edwin valero moved away from being a first round killer when he stepped up in competition
and looked to be developing some serious skills as an outside / in and out boxer on his toes
he wasnt a big LW and wouldnt have been big at all at 140 or 147 where he would have ended up

that's all i got for now

Dwight Muhammad Qawi was very short and prefered to box from the outside. Teddy Atlas says Tyson did not like infighting. Buddy McGirt was quite a bit shorter than Simon Brown but controlled their title bout from the outside.
