    Donaire vs. Tapia @115

Who wins this? I think it's a cracker, but Tapia outboxes Donaire pretty soundly. Donaire's power does nothing against Tapia's freaky chin and Johnny was a better boxer, although Donaire is an underrated technician. Technically-sound athlete vs. Athletic boxer.

We'll have to see how his fight with Montiel plays out... I am not a fan of Montiel but it can't be denied that he always finds a way to come out on top. IMO he was losing to Haswega and looked totally out of his element but he was able to come off the ropes and land a monster shot to the chin to put him out.

With that being said, a win over Montiel will show us a lot about Donaire because at this point I am not sold on him just yet. I think he lacks power but he does have great speed.

I'd have to go with Tapia.

If you think he lacks power, check out his one punch KO of Darchinyan. One shot and Darchinyan was out like a light. His eyes were open but there was nothing there. I think he tried to stand out of instinct, but that was as vicious a knockout as I've ever seen.

EDIT: Or his blitzing of Sidorenko. Sidorenko went down so hard a couple of times, it was really more about his heart than Donaire's lack of power.

Ive only seen a handfull of Donaires fights but ive been very impressed with him in those! Tapia is a master tho and his chin hoilds up to anything Donaire throws so im gonna pick him but who knows in time i might feel differently as i havent seen enough of Donaire to make an educated call. One things for damn sure he is beating the hell out of Montel, that boy is over rated something silly! Im not seeing the big deal with the fight, Donaire - easy!

What's even more insane is that he had landed a bit on Darchinyan but never really had him in trouble. That was the only big shot he landed and Darchinyan went out.

In fairness to Vic it would have KO'd a Rampaging Rhino!

Anyone have a new take based on what we saw on Saturday? This kid is the real deal, no doubt about it. Still any doubts about his power, Carlos?
