    p4p Hardest hitting HW

Who is the hardest hitting heavyweight, p4p?

I was watching Rocky Marciano and it got me wondering. His punches appear to be so devastating, it crossed my mind that he may be the hardest hitting heavyweight, p4p, of all time.

What are your thoughts? Who do you pick?

Pound for pound I'd say Marciano, closely followed by Dempsey and Louis.

Dempsey and Louis are both great choices. I used to think of Dempsey as the hardest hitting p4p but when you factor in the gloves he wore, and the fact that it took him many punches in some cases to floor a guy, compared to Rocky throwing a wallop and putting a guy to sleep for the night...

Frazier should be on there, too. He'd come in at what, 205, 210? He dropped Ali even with that amazing chin.

                1. George Foreman When he split Moorer's lip and clocked him cold to the canvas he set himself apart. #1 with a bullet.

                2. The Baer Brothers Everyone knows about Max but but both guys could blast through brick walls. 47 of Buddy's 51 wins came by KO...very under-rated slugger.

                3. Earnie Shavers- Gave Ali Parkinsons

                4. Joe Louis- Fire in both hands

                5. Lennox Lewis- His power is legendary. Can change the course of a match with just one punch.

agree with you, i think george is the hardest puncher alltime
i see him punching his opponent with body punches that move the opponent all the way to his side even it land in the shoulder.

Louis, Marciano & Dempsey, IMO, are your clear-cut stand-outs. Marciano wasn't as explosive a hitter as the previous two, though.
