Wouldn't say he is forgotten now, seems to be quite well known among people who know about the 40s.
But because he's so well known the rest of BMR do probably get forgotten because he over shadows them, Eddie Booker and Cocoa Kid still aren't in the HOF !?!?!, the **** is that about.

Good call Nchristo .. Burley has experienced a ''renesaince'' lately , getting to be better known. Eddie Booker imo seems to be the most overlooked of the bunch today. probably the total lack of film hurts him compared to the others who there exists if not much atleast some film of.

Booker is one of my favourite boxers to read about, one hell of a career he had and what a genius in the ring, spent a lot of time trying to find footage of him but like you said there's absolutely nothing.

Not given up hope yet though, Langford - Jeanette recently came out the woodwork so there's a chance there's something out there of him just extremely rare.

He was a forgotten figure at one time, but not no more.

He now has plenty of fans, he gets huge amounts of respect & credit from the boxing world, and gets talked about alot. I can think of alot more greats fighters who don't get talked about as much him.
