Jake LaMotta, the first to beat the great Sugar Ray Robinson wins against Cerdan, Basora, Satterfield, Zivic. Held World Middleweight Title for 2 years.

Lopez only had 3 fights at light-flyweight his only other division so you can only account him for dominating his division which he did and his title defences.

I'd say LaMotta but, I would have no problems with anyone saying R. Lopez.

P.S - I've heard Lopez ducked a few people can anybody give me information on this, Thanks.

Lopez was easily the better fighter. That man was one of the most remarkable combinations of talent & skill I've ever, ever witnessed in my lifetime.

However, LaMotta's resume is leagues superior --- leagues. It just comes down to where your priorities lie here, because LaMotta has a much stronger CV, but Lopez was a far better fighter, IMO.

Lopez was accused of avoiding Gonzalez & Carbajal, Barn. The truth is there wasn't much to it --- people wanted to see Lopez step-up & chase those fights once they caught wind of his superb gifts as a fighter, because Gonzalez & Carbajal were the two superstars of the lowest weights. When it didn't happen, people just threw about wild accusations out of frustration.

I kind of agree with this, but I don't agree with Lopez being a far better fighter because no fighter can be far better than someone who can beat Robinson, Cerdan, Zivic, Basora etc etc etc. Whatever his style, the guy was a ****ing monster.

Lopez however is just simply poetry in motion. One of the most perfect fighters to watch and had everything. Defense, speed, power, could lead/counter, combinations, jab, footwork, heart, determination, chin....ahhh man....if only he had fought those guys. Would have knocked 'em out I think.

If you could make a 160lb. version of Lopez, replete with everything he could do at that lower weight, he would defeat any man in any division during his time (90's).

Probably LaMotta, but Lopez had far superior ability.
