    Boxer-Punchers

It is shown that prehaps a boxer-puncher is a style that is one of the best in ring history. Very well balanced and conditioned, hard hitting, could out box a foe....even many of the greatest fighters of all times have been boxer-punchers:

    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Thomas Hearns
    Joe Louis
    Ezzard Charles
    Evander Holyfield (IMO)
    Lennox Lewis
    Bob Foster
    Sonny Liston

    among others

just something i thought if while watching a bunch of old tapes while i have the flu. Any thoughts you guys?

Not sure I'd consider a couple of those guys true boxer-punchers (Charles for example I think was more of a pure boxer). The quintessential boxer-puncher type is like a Salvador Sanchez imo.

I agree a good boxer who punches hard is a tough style to beat. I would add Morales he was a good boxer puncher although at times he reverted to slugging, Wayne Mccullough said that he hit harder then Hamed.

If we're going the Mexican route you should also include Ruben Olivares and Carlos Zarate.
