Better Ring General: Sweet Pea or Mayweather?

Not defense, not speed, not power, who was better at controlling range? They're both so good at it, I can't decide who was better.

I'm picking Pernell when he wasn't playing around, though I think picking someone is just who you prefer or random it cant get much higher than those two definately at the top with the other greats in terms of ring generalship.

I'll give it to Whitaker, on the basis his opposition was quite a way more formidable, & he was more offense-oriented than Mayweather, making his controlling of range more difficult, & thusly, more impressive.

I think everyone agrees Pernell was a little better. Not saying Floyd is bad, I'm a fan of his, but Pernell was, as already said a better offensive fighter, and imo better at opening up opponents for counters than Mayweather.

I'd say Mayweather but I think Whitaker (sp?) had a better defense. He moved his head better than anyone I know of.

Hard one, but I edge towards Pea.
