People in there, Tunney, Langford and others who had minimal fights at the Heavyweight weight class, excluding them, Your left without about 4 Top 50 ATG's in the Heavyweight Division.
When you look at LW you have, Duran, Leonard, Gans, Armstrong, Whitaker, Canzoneri etc. Who are all stonewall Top 50 greats.

Exactly how many HW get in? Maybe Ali and Louis? That's all that's really possible to be fair.

            Welterweight, Middleweight, or Lightweight definitely.

For an ordering I'd be sitting at:

            Welterweight
            Lightweight
            Middleweight

            I said modern boxing

            Roy Jones
            Hopkins
            Toney
            Hagler
            Hearns
            Monzon
            Nunn
            McCullum
            Eubank
            Sturm
            Benvenuti

All fought in the 70s or later

Dempsey was past his prime for both fights and who thinks Langfords best weight was heavyweight?
              It's definitely Light-Heavy IMO.

Hey let's all rank Roy Jones as a Heavyweight! He only had one fight there but hey, he won a title and since we're using the Boxing Scene equivalent of the "one drop" rule one sucessful fight at Heavyweight means you're a Heavyweight right?

The thread is about the deepest division of all-time, though...

Alof people think langfords best weight was heavyweight he was the number 1 contender for years cos johnson wanted nothing to do with a rematch! langford knocked out harry wills at heavyweight the same wills who demsey avoided for years, i think ring founder nat fleischer use to rate sam as the greatest heavyweight of all time, even dempsey said sam would of beat him.
