great H2H yet these match-ups don't get the response they deserve from members simply because of lack of film-footage of fighters like Stanley Ketchel, Harry Greb, Sam Langford, Mickey Walker, Freddie Steele and others, so as a debate on their merits could take place.

Yeah but, you can learn styles from writing.

yes that's true enough.. Hagler was a great fighter and a joy to watch yet do you think he could have floored Jack Johnson or lasted 12rds with Johnson, do you think he could have fought 32rds and KOd his opponent?

Writing is just not enough to go on though, at all, we can't tell what their weaknesses was, what their stylistic strengths were, how technically sound, how they, match up with southpaws, how good were they at counter punching, how did they hande fast opponents etc, etc.

I mean come on, what do we really know about Greb's style for example ?.
He threw a lot of punches, had a great chin, footwork, was dirty / knew how to rough up the opponent and was fast, that's just not enough at all to actually match him up in H2H, we need footage to get real detail and too try and make it as accurate as possible.

Not floored Jack Johnson, No. I think he did have superb conditioning and maybe could last 32 rounds and worn opponent down. Possibly lasted 12 rounds with Johnson I don't know, the man had a helluva chin.

Ketchel would be the most formidable opponent Hagler ever faced. He had a great chin, relentless stamina and workrate, the power to KO light-heavyweights and even drop the great heavyweight champion of his day. Then again, Hagler would be pretty formidable for Ketchel, whose freewheeling style would leave him wide open for Marvin's counters. I'll sit on the fence and say both would win if they fought a series, but what a series it would be.

Ketchel is a whole different type of animal than hagler, he would eat hagler up and spit him back out with in 15 rounds. Ketchel could be pound for pound the biggest puncher of all time, and could have the best stamina of any fighter in boxing history he once knocked a man out in the 32nd round, he also had a cast iron chin to go with his power and stamina.

Also lets not forget hagler let roberto duran get inside his head and showed him way to much respect he also lost the the mental battle to ray leaonard and was pushed back and often out fought by vito anufermo in there first fight, and was put off his game by alot of anufermo's rought house tactics, so how would he be able to handle ketchell??????????????????????

In those days if Hagler was placed in that era I GUARANTEE he would be a dirty fighter.
Saying Ketchel would eat Hagler up and spit him out isa bit of a hyperbole, no?
