Mikkel Kessler was 39-0 & undisputed 168lb champion with WBC & WBA Titles when Calzaghe defeated him. And Kessler has since gone to grab another world title and take the unbeaten scalp of Carl Froch.

Am not saying Calzaghe has a greater resume of wins than Tyson, but saying he beat no one good, is really underrating him.
I suppose I just don't like Calzaghe and was just resorting to a hyperbole to try and prove my point.
Your right about B-hop and Kessler, Lacy was another good win I suppose, I wouldn't count the RJJ win as a "good" win to be honest.
The Hopkins fight was quite close as well.

I tend to dislike fighters who get grossly over-rated and whose fans have an in your face way of telling you how great they are...

I just think its ironic how most people on here hate on Calzaghe for apparently facing facing b level champs saying his best wins are to 2 past their best HOF fighters and that he never fought anyone etc ...yet we might say the very same thing about Tyson !
Come on guys you cant have it both ways !

You are right, Tysons best are: 38 year old Larry Holmes and Heavyweight Green Michael Spinks who froze.
Both have pretty bad resumes it's just taking into account how they beat opponents Tyson edges it for me.

Maybe I just get the general over-ratedness with Calzaghe more because I live in Britain.

Yeah, it's mainly the casual fan that gets to me to be honest. His resume isn't the greatest though.

Oh its far from the greatest, but a lot of people that dont think he is an ATG say he has only fought bums and act like their is no middle ground which is what annoys me,but like you said its mainly the casual fans

Calzaghe had talent and was good enough that if someone wants to regard him as a fringe ATG calibre fighter than I have no argument. The problem comes in where his demented nuthuggers make him out as some kind of boxing avatar who blows away all the ATGs in history. No logic, no reason. In fact his only trait that counts when fan-bois elevate him to that status is that he's British. It's not just nuthuggery is jingoistic nationalist nuthuggery from many of the same people who scream about jingoism and nationalism whenever someone says the slightest positive thing about the United States. Talk about hypocricy

Replace "Calzaghe" with "Tyson" and "British" with "an insane nutjob" and you've got an equally accurate paragraph.
