    Marlon Starling

Seems fairly underrated to me. Beat Kevin Howard, Floyd Mayweather Sr,
21-0 Simon Brown, 18-0 Mark Breland, Lloyd Honeyghan and took prime Donald Curry to a SD, & prime Michael Nunn to a MD.

In 53 fights he was never knocked out either. He had 6 losses, but 3 came by Majority Decision, 1 By Split, & 1 By techinical decision.

    Whats your take on him?

He hardly gets mentioned at all,but he was a very good fighter, his fight with honeyghan was on ESPN classic the other night and he boxed very well in that

3 of his losses were against an undefeated curry x2 and an undefeated michael nunn so no shame in that plus he gave a decent account of himself, more so against curry

He was unlucky in dropping a decision to villela (which he later avenged),and his 4th loss was due to an accidental headbutt

All in all an under-appreciated fighter imo

Excellent fighter, though his tendency to showboat and coast in close fights was infuriating. I still think he could have won one of those Curry fights but he chucked it away by not fighting enough. Honeyghan was his best performance. Lloyd was never the same afterwards.

Excellent fighter who was trained by Eddie Futch.. The Magic Man`was his nickname and he was an exceptional talent who would have no problem being a champion today, his fights with Mark Breland are proof of that
