Pure speed alone he was very good. But I don't consider speed alone to make a great boxer. I always thought Roy Jones was a beatable boxer but at the same time I did enjoy watching him.
1994-2004 No one else has had a bigger grip on my genitals. Also if you can't see that Roy Jones is far and away the greatest object of ************ of his era then you simply don't know nuthugging and when you dig deeper and stop looking at boxrec you realize Roy makes me jizz all the time
He looked like a god in the ring. But lets be real here, was he fighting stiff competition?
And his career crashed extremely hard. The danny green 1st round K.O is an embarassment of a life time. Tarver, johnson and calzaghe were at least good boxers. But roy looked like a fool against them.
No, no he's not.
Yes, he lost to Griffin, the fight was fairly even until Jones got DQ. Bob Fitzsimmons is the first to go from Middleweight and win the Heavyweight championship.
No he doesn't have the longest reign as p4p #1, did you even check ?, Marvin Hagler has 4 consecutive years(83', 84', 85' and 86'), Pernel Whitaker has 3 (93', 94' and 95').
Roy how ever has 3 years and it wasn't really a reign because they're all seperate 96', 99' and 03'.
This is the history section but you're asking us too forget about all past boxers and just declare Roy the GOAT ?.
Oh dear.
Not to mention Bob won the HW championship, didn't cherry pick some paper belt holder the way Jones did. Now if Roy had beaten Lennox Lewis at the time ...............
His resume doesn't compare to many of the old time fighters, or even some of the new ones (Ali, Duran, etc.,) and there'll always be that steroid controversy hanging over him.
