  • Most boring fighters

Who are the most boring fighters to watch that you can remember.

From recent years I would have to say either Bernard Hopkins (in his later years) or john ruiz are pretty damn boring to watch.

For me, fighters who tend to knock their opponents out early, and fighters who are constantly on the offensive, are incredibly boring to watch. Mike Tyson, Aaron Pryor, Manny Pacquiao... I find them all about as exciting as watching paint dry. Obviously this contrasts with what probably 99.9% of fight fans think, but I prefer technical bouts that either go the distance or that go into the late rounds. I wouldn't pay to see one inning of a baseball game... I don't want to see guys ending fights in ten minutes.

everyone to there own yet i am the opposite i liked to see Tyson KO his opponent in the opening round it was almost as if `something was wrong with Mike`if he did not take care of business in the opening round... Manny Pacquiao i love watching as i see how far the guy can actually go, which so far is incredible that he has won 7 world titles in different weight divisions and may soon make it eight... Aaron Pryor again i found him very exciting and great to watch especially his 2 great fights with Arguello, when Pryor retired and then announced he was coming back and would be fighting Bobby Joe Young i had a feeling he would get beaten...i understand what you are meaning in that you "prefer technical bouts that either go the distance or that go into the late rounds.".. Small Hall shows are the thing for you as most of the fights are of that nature and the fighters are always very well matched unlike many world title fights.

most "slick" fighters like paulie or RJJ bore me

dunno how anyone could list tyson, pacquiao at the top of their boring list but some people probably feel the same about my choices

either way - even though i consider some styles boring, i always like seeing those boring styles matched up against a style i like, so they all have their place

ruiz definitely, thats not even a style, one minor change in the rules or ref not putting up with it would completely marginalize him as a fighter

i get bored with those rock 'em - sock 'em fighters. i like a technical fight AND i can enjoy a great KO AND i can enjoy slick fighters too.

but those fighters that just walk forward, and keep punching and not even trying to dodge punches and counter, no evasive movement or trying to create openings.. bores the hell out of me..

that's probably why i can't come up with one right now.. haha

I would say Hopkins in the last six years, even though I'll concede that his wins over Tarver and Pavlik were ultra impressive. The worst main event that I've ever attended live was Hopkins-Eastman. I still want my money back!

I thought Virgil Hill was really boring. Great skills, but no thrills.

I could find excitement in most boxing styles even Malignaggi. It was exciting watching Cotto and Hatton give him a beating, especially the former.

I think Cory Spinks, Ruiz, and Valuev are the most boring well-known fighters in the last 10-15 years.
