      He was certainly up there on the skill front. His skills in closing the distance, head movement and finding openings are in many ways as impressive as the defensive skills of an Ali or Walcott.

Jack Dempsey could box...and box well...Gene Tunney, Gibbons were excellent boxers. Jack outboxed Gibbons who was one of the best pure boxers of all time. He was very skilled and ATg great anyway you cut it.
