Roy Jones Jr. A very difficult boxer to rate... Great early career and difficult to watch lately. The REAL question is whether we are judging him by his best prime years and potential or by his numbers on paper... To really be fair to Jones and boxing in general we have to look at his prime years and his potential. When he was at his best, no one else looked nearly as good as he did even at their best. Roy had a fluidity about him in the ring and he revolutionized ring generalship. He was an artist who loved his craft and the hard work that came along with it. He was fast, powerful, very smooth and had great footwork. He overpowered opponents with his speed boxer-puncher style and captivated audiences around the world. That is how I remember Roy... his latest fights are a man holding on to something that has already left him...

you cant judge a good boxers in their primes. you have to determine the GOAT through out his career. some boxers were unbeatable in their prime. he may be the most athletic and one of the most powerful punchers of all time but far from the BEST. in his prime alone i would probably put him in top 5 ATG behind Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Armstrong, and Joe Louis.
