No, it's not. The sarcasm is in 'I couldn't care less'. That's the whole point of the saying. You are trying to get across that it is so inane and such a ****** point (whatever it is) that you couldn't care less. Ie. that it's such a pointless idea that you couldn't possibly care any less about it. It's not mentally possible to care any less than you already do. That's where the sarcasm fits in, not the other way around. You don't say I could care less about it, because that means you are saying the opposite of what you are trying to get across, that being that you don't give a flying **** about something.

Because usually a point or view has been brought up that they don't care about and that's what they are trying to convey. The sarcasm comes in because you are exaggerating how little you care about it. You don't say I could care less about it, because that means you do care about it which is the complete opposite of what they are saying. Or there is something they are trying to say that, in whatever context, doesn't matter and they couldn't care less about that aspect, which in this view is their outside ring activities.

He's saying he couldn't care less about their outside ring life because it doesn't matter, and what matters is what they did in ring, hence, I couldn't care less about what they do outside their boxing life. It makes no sense whatsoever if you say 'I could care less about what they do outside' when you are trying to get the point across that what they do outside is of no consequence to their ring life and you yourself don't care about it and neither should anyone else.

What is the difference between Carlos monzon and Edwin valero? Why do people **** on Valero and downplay him (he's not an ATG, not claiming he is more than what he accomplished till then but c'mon that guy was good and only getting better) when he murdered his wife. What excuses Carlos Monzon from the hate directed towards Edwin yet monzon gets praise for simply being a great fighter. Was it Monzon's accomplishments that earned him his respect as a fighter regardless of what happened out of the ring? Why wasn't Valero respected equally as a fighter not judged on his actions outside of it. I ask this simply because people who wished Edwins soul the worst in hell yet these same people in other threads praise Monzon as a great fighter. Did they just ignore the fact he's in the same position as Valero? Is it merely his accomplishments which excuse him? If that's the case, (becoming far more typical on these forums) there are just too many **** riders and not enough fans of the sport who respect fighters for what they do which is fight. I could honestly care less about a fighters life outside of the ring. I care only about what he does inside of it. Guys need to man up on these forums and stop acting b!tchmade. Respects to any positive or negative feedback.

I expect Valero gets more abuse on here because the average NSB poster doesn't know much about Monzon. I don't know of anyone who gives Monzon a pass for his personal life though. Even as a fan of his it's undeniable he was a complete arsehole. The praise he gets is for his boxing prowess. He was a great boxer who had a Hall of Fame career whereas Valero wasn't and didn't.

I agree with your basic point that a boxer's personal life has nothing to do with whether he was a great boxer or not. Someone should tell the likes of Colin Hart who want to exclude Tyson from the Hall of Fame because of his many indiscretions that the IBHOF already has murderers, wife beaters, thugs and the like among its inductees.

he acted in big time movies
dated movie stars

caved a reporter's face in

but more importantly he was for years the most dominant champion in boxing
and one of the best fighters on the planet

Iconic status : well earned.

that's my point, that's exactly what I was reffering to; that a boxers personal life has nothing to do with the respect they deserve for whatever they accomplished in the ring. How should I put it? Let say, I respect mayweather's skill but consider him an a$$hole, regardless, there's no way it can be denied that this man has tremendous skill so i respect him regardless of how he is as a person. Once again before someone compares valero's resume to monzon. I don't care. What I'm reffering to is that at the end of the day some people here praise monzon and **** on valero yet aren't they still wife murderers regardless of who accomplished more? Lmao

its like limits in calculus in that you could care less about what you could care less about your left with less then what? less then what you could care less about thus creating a lower limit that's infinately approaching zero caring. allowing one to esentially not care while effectivly maintaining the absloute lowest amount of caring possible.
