Why was there no Robinson-Maxim rematch?

Why was there no Sugar Ray Robinson - Joey Maxim rematch?

Robinson retired after the bout, to pursue other things such as his bussines, tv shows & dancing. Only to come back 3 years later, due to money problems.

oh that's right.. but why didn't he go back after the light heavies? i know he didn't want to fight Billy Conn. but there were others, right?

I remember reading in robinson's book pound for pound that if ray would of won the lightheavyweight belt he would of then went after the heavyweight title
