I know cus trained patterson and tyson, but I saw more of a dempsey style with tyson. That was tyson's favorite boxer and watched hours of tapes on him.,

        Miguel Cotto - Wilfredo Gomez
        Alexis Arguello - Joe Louis

Ricardo Lopez - Juan Manuel Marquez
        Mike Tyson - Jack Dempsey
        Tim Witherspoon - Kenny Norton
I don't agree with that. Marquez style is all about counter punching. He does great when faced with guys that come right at him and attack him (Pacquiao, Diaz, Juarez, Peden) but he struggles badly with pure boxers who sit back and wait for him to attack (Mayweather, Chris John, Freddie Norwood. Also the Casamayor fight was dead even before the KO).

Lopez was the complete fighter. He could fight in several different styles depending on the opponent. He could pick you off with the jab, come forward and attack, counterpunch or brawl and he did it all really well. And he had 1 punch KO power in both hands. I like Marquez but he's not in the same league as Ricardo.

Some that I can think of...

Floyd Mayweather Jr - Ricardo Lopez
          Felix Sturm - Winky Wright
          Cory Spinks - Pernell Whitaker
          Andre Ward - Bernard Hopkins
          Wladimir Klitschko - Lennox Lewis
          Celestino Caballero - Felix Trinidad

But the best one is proberbly Jose Luis Castillo - Julio Cesar Chavez. JLC was his sparring partner for years and you can see he learned alot from Julio when you watch some of his best performences (Lazcano, Diaz). Particuarly in terms of boxing punching and cutting off the ring. He was very good at that.

Yes, he was. It's my life's mission on boxingscene to make people realize that. He's top 10 p4p all-time.
