Prime Hagler vs Prime Monzon

This would definitely be an all-time great. Both are hard-hitters but also have quality chins which makes me doubt anyone will be knocked out
Just now i think narrow decision but not sure which way, maybe you guys could give your opinions and influence mine

I would say Hagler wins by extremely close split decision.

Monzon would set the pace early with his very good jab and domiate the first four rounds or so.

Then Hagler would pile on the pressure rounds 5-11 after getting frustrated over lack of success and these rounds could go either way.

But Hagler would fight tenaciously over the last four rounds and maybe even score a questionable knockdown (maybe because of fatigue) to win the decision.
If three fights are fought Hagler wins two in my opinion.

I believe his extreme conditioning and determination would be what wins it for Hagler.
Just my opinion though.

but dont you think he might just be able to over frustrate hagler with his jab leading monzon to win middle rounds? and although hagler often good at late domination monzon could land a few late bombs late on too probably not knocking marvelous down but possibly hurting him...i knw it sounds like im siding with monzon bt still not sure which way to go i was just trying to see the other sides of he reasons you think hagler decision

It's a tough one but, while you are saying that Hagler was also an amazing boxer/puncher contrary to popular belief so, mayeb he could cause un upset and actually control the fight with HIS jab.
I'm just evaluating strengths and weaknesses and coming to a conclusion which I believe the fight may go but, as you are saying there is no "definite" way a fight can go.

yeah i know in a nother thread i stated that many people were understating haglers boxing ability and in this fight he might be able to establish his jab but i think monzon might just edge him on that one, i think in a 3 fight series it would be 2-1 hagler but with just 1 fight i think id edge towards monzon

Yeah for the first fight i think monzon would win it, second woud go to hagler after working out a gameplan to beat monzon, 3rd fight im not quite sure but i think hagler again would be able to bring something new to the fight giving him an advantage

In a one off fight my money would be on Hagler and I'd expect him to take two of three in a trilogy.
